William Joseph Mooney, Jr

William J Mooney, age 73, passed away on November 8, 2020. He was born to William and Helen Mooney in August 1947, in Philadelphia, PA. He was a graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School and worked for CSX Transportation until his retirement in 2007. Bill loved animals and had many dogs and cats over the course of his life. He also loved to travel around the United States, with the Southwest being a favorite destination. Despite a mid-career move to Florida, Bill always remained a Philadelphian at heart. He was preceded in death by his beloved partner John Fasciocco. He is survived by his sister Barbara Mooney (Joan) of Rhode Island, sister Judith Kowalski (Matthew) of New Jersey, his nephew Matthew Kowalski (Kelly), his nieces Kristin Stokotelny (Ivan), Lorian Eck (Brad), Megan Morin (Alan), Koren Giacobbe (Michael), and great-nieces Eva and Talia and great-nephews Adrian, William, Finley, and Aaron.

A Celebration of his Life will be held in Philadelphia at some point after the pandemic is over.
