Thomas Anthony Ming

Thomas Anthony Ming, 74, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, on September 26 ^th , 2022.  He was born January 6 ^th , 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Anthony Joseph Ming and Beatrice Hilda (Lewis) Ming.

Tom graduated from Middletown High School in New Jersey in 1966 and from Clemson University in 1970. Following college graduation, he began a 45-year career in the Transportation, Shipping and Logistics industry. Over the years, he rose in the ranks from salesman to corporate executive and became well known and highly respected in this industry.  Throughout his career, he traveled all over the world and enjoyed visiting new and interesting countries. In retirement, he spent time as a consultant and educator in International Logistics as his wisdom and knowledge within this industry was highly sought after.

Tom was a huge animal lover. Over his lifetime, he was blessed with many canine companions. He enjoyed sitting on his back porch doing crossword puzzles and relaxing with his current best friend, Max. Tom was a devoted fan of Clemson University football as well as the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Upon retirement, Tom discovered a passion for fly fishing. He loved spending time at the beach with his son catching an occasional miscellaneous shark instead of the Whiting or Red Fish he was hoping for.

In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Joanne (Castello) Ming. To remember all the love and memories, he is survived by his two children, daughter, Kristina Ming-Capps (Robert) of Jacksonville, son, Thomas Joseph Ming of Jacksonville, and four grandchildren, Robbie, Emma, Matthew, and Jacob Capps.

Tom will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

A memorial service and a celebration of his life is being planned and details will be shared with family and friends.
