Theodore Samuel Pina, Sr.

Theodore Samuel Pina, Sr of Jacksonville passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021.

Ted was born on October 22, 1940 in Marion, Massachusetts to Samuel and Virginia Pina.  He graduated from Stonehill College in 1963 and received his Masters Degree from Boston State College in 1974.

Ted is survived by his daughter, Monica (Mel) Ellis and his son, Theodore S. Pina, Jr.,(Molly) his grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Kevin, and Allison Pina, Drew (Taylor), Will (Hannah Nelson), and Jackson Gowen, a special nephew Stephen Pina (Terri), a sister Candida Tavares, a brother, Edwin Pina, several nieces and nephews.

Besides his family, Ted loved music (the bass guitar), baseball, The Red Sox, cribbage, and the students of Episcopal High School.

Ted was an educator and spent more than 25 years at Episcopal School of Jacksonville where he taught history and geography and was the Head of the Middle School.  He also served as the softball coach.  Ted had an immeasurable impact on the lives of many, many students.

Memorialization will be by cremation.  Due to COVID concerns, a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
