In Memory of our Very Dear Stan Czzowitz, Jr. October 27, 1942 to June 16, 2021 On June 16, 2021, our greatly beloved husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and grandfather, Stan Czzowitz, Jr., went home into God’s graces after a many-months-long fight against lung and bone cancer. A strong-willed individual, Stan refused categorically to accept the cancer diagnosis, often responding to the doctors with, “I don't have cancer!” though he determined to follow all treatments that may have led to remission or a cure. My “Stashu,” as he enjoyed being called, was very proud of his Polish heritage and never hesitated to provide a short history lesson when asked about his family name.
Born in Sewickley, PA. Stan was man of diverse talents acquired through his College Degree in Liberal Arts, his proud service of 3 years, 3 months, and 28 days in the Navy during the VietNam era, reaching the rank of Senior Personnelman, E-1. Using the knowledge gained in a 50+ year career in business, finance, and human resources. Stan ran several successful businesses, under the banner “Consolidated Business” in Richmond, VA.
Stan was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Katherine, his beloved younger brother John, and many other family with whom he has now joyfully been reunited. As he approached Heaven, Stan was looking forward to also reuniting with his Mother-in-Law, Claude, and Michèle's Godmother, “Ninne”. He had shared many years with his Mom-in-Law and Auntin-Law in Jacksonville, and never thought he would ever have had such loving relationships. Both his Mom-in-Law and Aunt-in-Law spoke French as their native language, and Stan was wonderfully capable of communicating with them through an incredibly bizarre mix of English, Spanish (which Michèle was teaching him) and High School French! They all understood and enjoyed each other's conversations immensely.
Stan is survived by his very dear daughters Debbie, Elisa, Leigh and Julie, all of whom he loved intensely and missed not having in his life for more years than he did. Stan was also intensely proud of his dear grandchildren whom he knew best, Michael and Kristen; he knows they will both be very successful in their future lives. Stan leaves his brother Dave, and sister-in-law Bernadette; his brother Lew and his sister-in-law, Barb; and his brother-inlaw, Bernard, Bernard's fiancée Debbie, and his son, Orion. Stan will also be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Stan's much-loved wife, Michèle, plans a Memorial to the adventure-filled life they shared for 26 outstanding years of marriage.
The Memorial will be held on July 14, 2021 in Jacksonville, FL where he spent the last 16 years of his life.
Stan was lovingly being cared for at Community Hospice, Anne and Donald McGraw Center for Caring in Jacksonville. He went to Heaven peacefully and quietly while holding his beloved Michèle's hand.
Stan and Michèle request that no flowers be sent but that donations be made in his name to the Shriner's Hospital for Children and/or to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Stan is happily in Heaven now with his beloved pet, Victoria Elizabeth Czzowitz who he has deeply missed since she died in 2019 but who has doubtless been waiting for her "Daddy." Michèle can't wait to join them.
