Shelbert (Shelby) Milford Cash was born on January 26, 1955 in Brewton, AL and
passed into eternity to be with Jesus and his eternal family, August 4, 2022 in Jacksonville, FL. Shelby was the 15th of 16 children, and the youngest son of Willard Lloyd Cash and Cora O. Bowen Cash.
Shelby spent his childhood in Pollard, AL, where he attended McCall School, and in Century FL, where he attended Century Middle and High School.
As a teenager, Shelby taught himself to play the drums. His love and talents of music opened a lifetime of opportunities for him in the music industry. Shelby's music career really took off with his brothers, Gene, Allen, and Odell in the early 70's in Chicago, IL featuring "Gene Cash and the Coins". In the late 70's, Shelby, Gene, and Allen moved their band and recording studio to Nashville, TN along with a thriving music career. Shelby would go on to build other studios of his own in Nashville, Houston, and New Orleans. He played with many big-name artists and was considered one of the best studio engineers in Nashville by many. His last recording was a song he wrote called "Oh Jesus" reminding of his need for his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Shelby was also an excellent portrait photographer with Parkway Studios International and Prestige Photography of Mobile, AL. He traveled throughout the U.S. photographing families.
Shelby will be joining his infant son, Michael Cash, in heaven along with his eternal family, his parents, Willard and Cora Cash; brothers, Barney W. Cash, O D Cash, Allen Cash, and William Cash; his sisters, Dot McCurdy, Bobbie Frazier, Shirley Owens, Wanda Cash, and Mildred Faye Cash.
Shelby is survived by his only daughter Candice Stoltz (Tim) of Caledonia, MN, two grandsons Jesse and Jarrett and a granddaughter Maggie. Three brothers: George Cash of Bay Minette, AL, Gene Cash of Murfreesboro, TN. and Odell Cash (Linda) of Harvest, AL, three sisters: Joyce Erskin (Al) of Davilla, TX, Becky Cash of Pensacola, Fl and Linda Batte of Brewton, AL, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial is planned for family and friends at Flomaton Community Center Saturday August 27, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
