Ryan Cotten Davis

Ryan Cotten Davis passed away on November 7, from cancer. Ryan was born on April 28, 1937 to Lillian Alligood Davis and Harry L. Davis, in Washington, N.C. He graduated from Washington High School, class of 1955, and served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Libya. After his military service, Ryan had a 38-year career with Florida East Coast Railroad, retiring as a Chief Clerk.

Ryan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Cleveland Davis; by his son Alex (and his wife, Nancy, and her son Dimitri), and his son Adrian. He is predeceased by his son Keith, also known as Chip, and a nephew, Eric Clifford Davis. Ryan was the last of his siblings to pass; he joins brothers Harry and Herbert, and his sister, Cecelia.

For his final days, he was able to be at home, cared for by his family and the wonderful staff of Community Hospice.

There was no funeral service. His cremated remains will be laid to rest at the Jacksonville Veteran’s Cemetery. No date has been set for the interment.
