Roswell T. Echols (Ros), US Navy (Retired), 78, of Jacksonville FL, passed away February 27, 2024.
Ros was the son of the late Willie and Sarah Echols. In addition to his parents, Ros is preceded in death by his two sisters Gloria Stevens, Danette Echols and his brother Rodney Echols.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Lee Echols; daughter, Michelle Parman (Rob); son, Rick Echols; son, Allen Echols (Chelsea); grandchildren, Brittany Deese, Marisa Powers, Brandon Midyette and Ty Echols; and many great grandchildren.
Ros was born on March 19, 1945 in Patterson Georgia. He enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17 and served until 1982, where he retired as a Chief Petty Officer. During his service with the US Navy, Ros was a proud Vietnam Veteran.
Following his retirement with the US Navy, Ros went to work at Arlington Wrecker and Later Stover Sales until he retired in 2020.
Ros enjoyed riding his motorcycle and a member of the Rolling Thunder Chapter 4 and loved spending time with his family and especially his great grandchildren.
More than anything Ros loved his family. He was a supportive and loving husband, nurturing father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Memorial Service will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218 on March 22, 2024 at 10:00am
