Rosemarie Hurner

October 28, 1959 — February 2, 2025

Rosemarie “Rose” (Moore) Hurner, 65, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025.

Born in Sharon Hill, PA on 10/28/1959 to Richard and Rose (Plower) Moore, Rose spent most of her life in the Philadelphia, PA area before settling in Florida.

Rose began her career as a secretary and, through hard work and determination, rose to the ranks of a stockbroker in a small investment firm. However, her greatest and most cherished role was that of a devoted mother. She dedicated her life to caring for her three daughters, especially her eldest, Keara, who faced the challenges of a traumatic mental illness that started in her teenage years. Rose’s unwavering love, compassion, and commitment ensured that Keara was always safe, supported, and deeply loved.

Beyond her devotion to family, Rose was a vibrant and joyful soul. She loved dancing, singing, and filling every room with laughter. An incredible athlete, she found happiness in movement— whether playing tennis, swimming, biking, walking (especially with Keara), practicing yoga, or simply enjoying the beach.

Rose will be remembered for her selflessness, boundless love, and the deep connections she formed with her family and friends, especially her best friends, ‘The Lucky 7,’ whom she had known her entire life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Rose Moore; her brother, Patrick “Mooney” Moore; and her niece, Christine Moore.

She leaves behind her three daughters, Keara Hurner, Victoria Hill (Taylor) & Rachel Hurner (Jason DeLay); her husband Robert “Bob” Hurner; and her cherished grandson, Jaxon Hill. She is also survived by her sisters, Maureen Coletti (Tom) & Mary Eckhoff (Mark); her brothers, Ricky Moore (Patty) & Joe Moore (Eve), and many beloved nieces & nephews.

A celebration of life will be held in Philadelphia, PA, at a later date (TBD).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Excel Beyond Reach Group Home and Support Service , an organization dedicated to helping individuals with mental disabilities lead independent and fulfilling lives. This organization has been a true blessing for Rose’s eldest daughter, Keara, and holds a special place in the family's heart.

Rose’s legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.
