Ronald "Ron" Lee Russ

Ron Russ, age 70, of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully at his home on April 1st 2023 after a long battle with cancer.

Ron was born to Durwood Russ and Melba (Cox) Russ in Bladenboro, NC on July 20, 1952.  He married the love of his life, Rosanna, in 1984.  Together, with kids, Matthew, Daniel and Rhonda, they lived a long adventurous life.   A life full of fishing, camping and backyard barbeques, where all were welcome.  Later in life he would continue this with his grandkids, who he cherished.  Ron truly was the best husband and father anyone could ask for.

Ron had many interests, most notably; fishing, camping, photography, motorcycle riding, grilling and let’s not forget his love of music.  He worked in the automotive parts industry, where he made some life-long friends.  Besides fixing cars, he could fix/build anything with his hands.

His smile: infectious, his love: felt deeply, Ron was an amazing man that will truly be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Russ in 2010, whom he loved deeply.   He is survived by his wife Rosanna Russ, daughter Rhonda Russ, son Daniel Jewett and grandchildren Aria Jewett, Kharma Bruggner, Lochlan Jewett and Van Jewett.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at his home on April 22nd, 2023 at 2:00pm.
