Robert Allan Shupe was born in Jacksonville, Florida on December 23, 1946 and he passed away peacefully on July 23, 2020. His father was in the Navy, and Bob, his mother Olive, and brothers Jim and Paul, traveled across the globe and wound up eventually in Morocco. While his father was stationed in Morocco, Bob pitched in the 1958 Little League World Series during the World Fair in Brussels, Belgium. His father lost his life while in the Navy, and Bob’s family returned to their home in Jacksonville. He later served in the National Guard for six years in communications. After his time in the service Bob worked as a lineman for Jacksonville Electric Authority for twenty-eight years. He was a dedicated Masonic Member for forty-eight years and was awarded Lifetime Member and Unsung Hero Award from American Legion Post # 137. He was a devoted and loving husband of twenty-eight years to his wife Belinda, both members of Lake Shore Baptist Church. Bob was an avid fishermen and hunter. Ranging from the St. Johns River striper hole to the woods of Pennsylvania where he harvested his first giant elk. What set Bob apart from others was his unflinching loyalty to family and friends. He is survived by his wife Belinda, brother Jim, daughter Tammie, sons Brandon, Bobby, and James, stepdaughter Casey, grandchildren Madison, Kathryn, Amelia, Skylar, Casen, Camden, and Colten, and great-grandchildren Ryker and Anniston. Bob leaves behind a legacy of devotion as a husband, father, brother, and son and he will be dearly missed. Bob’s ashes will be scattered in accordance with his wishes in his favorite fishing spot in the St. Johns River. His family will keep all friends updated once dates are set.
