Robert John Rockwell, (Rob), went home with the Lord on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 after a valiant battle with liver disease at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Rob was born on October 22, 1962 in Bristol, Pennsylvania and was a lifelong resident of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Rob was a graduate of Neshaminy High School, class of 1980. After graduation, Rob joined the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served his country in Beirut, Lebanon and Grenada. He was also stationed 8th and I Marine Corps Barracks where he was a Marine Corps guard at the White House for President Ronald Reagan. He also received the Humanitarian Service Medal for his participation in Air Florida Flight 90 Rescue / Recovery on January 13, 1982. After Rob’s service in the Marine Corps, he attended Lock Haven University where he was a proud member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. After attending Lock Haven University, Rob became a member of both the Philadelphia and Bristol Township Police Departments. Rob enjoyed NASCAR races, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and traveling with his wife to Las Vegas and Disney World. Rob was preceded in death by his father, Dr. John Rockwell. He is survived by the love of his life, wife of 16 years, Donna; his children, Ryan and Thomas and his stepchildren, Matthew (Kalena) and Marissa. He is also survived by his mother, Peggy, brother, David and his sisters, Laura Ries (Chalie), and Carolyn Grow (Justin), and his niece, Olivia Grow, and nephew, John Grow. Also surviving are his mother and father-in-law, Barbara and Hal Heffelfinger; brother-in-law, Ron (Maureen), and their children, Brett , Courtney and Evan. Rob will also be missed by his numerous Rockwell cousins from Susquehanna, Pennsylvania and by his friends. Funeral services with military honors will be held on April 22, 2022 at 2:30 pm at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery located at 830 Highland Road in Newtown, Pennsylvania, 18940. If planning to attend, please arrive 30 minutes prior to the service for processional line-up. All are welcome to attend in order to honor Rob’s memory.
