Robert Bruce Kruse

May 5, 1958 — June 9, 2018

Kruse, Robert Bruce --Born on May 5, 1958, in San Diego, CA. Rob grew up in California, Hawaii, and Virginia. Upon graduation from Alleghany High School in Covington, VA, Rob joined the Navy. He was stationed in Jacksonville, FL, where he met his wife of 37 years, Lynne Weyer Kruse. He leaves behind his wife; two children, Jennifer Lynne Kruse and Robert Bruce Kruse II (Sarah); two grandsons, Conner Patric Brady and Robert Bruce Kruse III (Robbie); and siblings, Steve Kruse, Andrew Kruse, Diane Malina, and Dennis Eggleston, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Rob was, for many years, an active member with the Boy Scouts as well as a Sunday School Teacher and active volunteer with the youth group at Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church. He built homes in the St. Johns and Jacksonville communities for 30+ years and was employed as a plans reviewer with the St. Johns County Building Department. Rob loved spending time with his family and friends and was always quick to play a trick on others or tell a joke. He enjoyed playing games with loved ones and getting the crowd laughing. It was not often you would find Rob without a smile. While our hearts are broken to lose him, we know it is not “goodbye”, but rather “until we meet again”. We invite you to join us in celebrating his life on Friday June 15, 2018 with a visitation at 11:00 am and a memorial service at 12:00 pm at Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church, 4001 Hendricks Ave, Jacksonville, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the education fund for his grandsons, Robbie and Conner Acct #63-20 through Community First Credit Union of Florida (904) 354-8537.
