Robert (Bob) Cannon, 60, passed suddenly at his home in Jacksonville, Florida, Jan 26, 2021. A beloved father, brother, friend, Bob met no strangers.
Bob was born in Enterprise, Alabama, with his formative years spent in Lake City, Florida. And though opportunity sent him to Jacksonville in later years, he still considered Lake City his true home. After serving our country in the US Navy, (probably signed on because he thought big boat... lots of fishing opportunities), Bob found his true vocation as a tinkerer/electrician/handyman. If it was broke, Bob could fix it. If it wasn’t broke, Bob sold it. And if he wasn’t fixin’ and sellin’, he was a fishin’ - never met a fishin’ hole he didn’t like. Bob was a humble man of humble means but would not hesitate to give the shirt off his back or the newly repaired chair from the living room.
Bob is survived by his sons, Brian (Marsha), and Craig (Dalila), their children Jaren, Miles, Levi, and Liam, more than a handful of loving siblings and preceded in death by his father, Charles Cannon Jr., mother, Myra Sinclair, brothers Terry Allen, Tim Cannon, and sister, Peggy Cannon Chandra.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, no formal services will be conducted.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the home of his sister, Joan Cannon Dicks, 360 SE Elton Dicks Ct, Lake City, Fl., 32025, on Saturday, Feb. 6, from 10-4:00. 904-282-1054.
