Richard Carmino Ardolino 75 of Jacksonville, Florida was called home to the Lord on July 20, 2022 after a
courageous battle with cancer. Honoring his wishes there was no funeral or memorial services.
He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on June 22, 1947 to the late Carmino and Marie (Ferioli) Ardolino.
After graduating from the High School of Commerce in 1965, Richard enlisted in the United States Coast
Guard in 1966. He received an Honorable Discharge after his four years of military service to his
country. He was employed at New England Uniform Service, an Ardolino family owned business by his
cousin until his retirement after 38 years.
He loved his Oldies and Doo Wop music so much that he started his own disc jockey service. Hit Man
Productions was a dream come true for him being able to bring the joy of music to his clients. He also
was the house DJ for My Brother’s Place in Chicopee, MA for 25 years.
Richard was passionate about the Oldies music especially Doo Wop music. He would travel every year
to see original Doo Wop groups perform at Lead East in New Jersey with his Doo Wop buddies. He was
a proud member of New England Doo Wop Society. Attending their fantastic shows and having the
honor of introducing the founders of the society Gary Jones and Bob Belinak before each show!
Richard was predeceased by his beloved parents Carmino and Marie,
and his brothers Ronnie and Tommy Ardolino.
He leaves his loving wife of 50 years, Darlene (Condino) Ardolino; his beloved children Cynthia Wojczyk
of Florida and son Ronald Ardolino of Massachusetts, his three grandsons Ryan, Gavin, Oliver and
granddaughter Olivia. He leaves his very special cousins Janice Berard, Linda Uschmann and Elaine Lucci
all of Massachusetts. He was so proud to be Godfather to Kim Gilbert of Florida and Jennifer Daley of
Connecticut.
Richard will be dearly missed by his Doo Wop friends that he has met through the years and his close
circle of friends so many have known him since childhood. One very dear friend since childhood is, Bob
Pepek, who Richard loved like a brother. They grew up together sharing so many special life events their
marriages, births of their children and being their children’s Godfathers. They were always inseparable
and ready to help each other no matter what the need might have been.
Richard will be remembered for being many things a loving devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, son-in-law, godfather, his loyalty to his friends and loving family and most certainly the love of Darlene’s life.
We would like to extend our deep gratitude to everyone for your many compassionate words of comfort, mass cards, flowers, fruit baskets, Italian cookie trays and the many individual acts of kindness helped us at a time we needed you most. We shall cherish you always.
