RALPH “RANDY“ RITTER June 28, 1966 – July 18, 2021 (55)
Randy Ritter passed unexpectantly away on July 18, 2021 from complications related to Covid 19.
Randy was born in Hagerstown, Maryland. He attended South Hagerstown High and was a graduate of the class of 1985. Fishing, hunting, and camping were some of the many things he enjoyed in life. He spent his weekends at Riverbend Campground in Falling Waters, WV, where he met his wife (Deborah Sullivan) in 1978 and they were married on April 28, 1990.
Moving to Glen Burnie, MD in 1989 he found work on the docks of Annapolis with Carter Fabrications as a welder. There he created beautiful furniture for Nierman & Weeks and worked on many of sailboat on the Annapolis docks.
In March of 1994, he moved to Jacksonville, FL. He worked for Powells Custom Metals until starting his own business, Randy’s Quality Home Services, Inc in 2006. His company sub-contracted to Lowe’s installing appliances along with other small home improvements.
In December 1997 their son Cody was born and later in 2006 they were blessed to raise their nephew, Chase Boger. Randy was a wonderful father and was very involved with the boys. He was an assistant scout leader for Troop 101, in Mandarin, for both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He also helped to coach baseball for both the MAA and Julington Creek Associations. Later, he became the “hockey dad” for the Citrus Kings a roller hockey team based out of Skate Station in Mandarin. In addition, Randy was very involved with his son, Cody’s, ice hockey teams. Over the years he never missed a game, traveling with the teams from Colorado to Massachusetts, and back to Florida.
Randy was also a member of the Jacksonville Gem and Mineral Society, Inc. He volunteered his time taking care of the facility and teaching. He enjoyed teaching intarsia, metal working, cabbing, and torch enameling.
Randy loved his family very much and was a wonderful, dedicated father and husband. He touched many lives and was loved by all. His radiant smile, infectious laughter, and never say no personality will be missed by all who knew him.
He leaves behind his wife, Deborah Ritter, Cody Ritter (son), Chase Boger (son/nephew), Veronica Ritter (mother), Lorena Ritter (sister), Robert & Karen Boger (mother & father in-law), sister in-laws, Kelly France, Donna Weberg, Mary Simms, and 7 nieces and 2 nephews and special friend Barbara Adams.
