Peter Michael Motolenich, Sr., age 78, from Orange Park, FL, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2024 after receiving Roman Catholic Last Rites.
Peter was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on March 26, 1946 to Stephen E. Motolenich and Lila Valladares.
He graduated from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in civil engineering, and later earned a Master’s Degree in civil engineering from California State University Long Beach.
Peter served in the US Navy Civil Engineering Corps for twenty years, retiring as a Commander.
His main hobbies were walking and traveling. Peter traveled extensively throughout Western Europe. When he was younger, he was an avid and skilled tennis player.
He will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor and his love for his family. His legacy of love, fairness, compassion, and friendship will live forever in the hearts of those lucky enough to have known him.
He is preceded in death by his father and his mother.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife, Nilda Motolenich; his sons, Peter,Jr., (Kathleen), and Kenneth (Anita); his grandchildren, Mary (Brian), Meghan, Ryan, Genevieve, and Lilia; his brothers, Steve (Janice) and Joseph (Miriam).
Funeral services will be scheduled at a later time.
