Peter Francis Flood, 86, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Jan. 27, 2024. Peter was born in Manhattan, New York on Jan. 28, 1937, the oldest son of Peter Gerard and Anna Townsend Flood.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nannette Staten Flood, who died in 2007 at their home in Emerald Isle, North Carolina. They were married for 48 loving years. Peter and Nannette moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina in 1969 from New York City. Peter was a Logistics Manager for Fayetteville Manufacturing Company until his retirement. He moved to Jacksonville Florida in 2015 to be closer to family. Remembered as an adoring husband, and friend to all whom he met, Peter was actively involved in community events at his Jacksonville senior living community.
An avid model railroad enthusiast, he enjoyed collecting antique model trains, sharing his knowledge with other railroaders, and passing on his enthusiasm to young people – including his grandchildren and great grandchildren. During his time in Emerald Isle, he participated annually in a holiday model train show for young children.
Survived by his son, Paul and his wife Nanette Miller Flood; his two grandchildren Paul Jr. and his wife Sidney Renée Flood, and Laura Caroline Flood. Peter was a proud Great Grandfather to Felicity Renée and Elizabeth Louise Flood.
Services will be a private ceremony for the immediate family when Peter is laid to rest alongside his beloved wife in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
