Pearl Bordelon Blair, 92, much-loved mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2021, at her residence. She was born on July 21, 1928, in Bordelonville, LA. Daughter of the late Lehman Joseph and Anita Marcotte Ducote Bordelon.
Pearl met her husband, Grover, at a Mississippi riverboat dance in New Orleans soon after he returned from WWII and they soon married. She often said she was blessed to have been able to stay at home to raise her children into adulthood. Later in life she worked alongside her husband during the establishment of their manufacturing business, Blair Machine & Tool. As the business expanded each of her adult children joined the company, and she was once again spending each day with her husband and three children. She often expressed how happy and proud she was that her family had worked together for decades and carried on the family business after her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Grover Maurice Blair. She is survived by her children, Edward Blair (Cathryn), Janice McDowell (Phillip) and Glen Blair (Sharon). She was blessed with grandchildren Marc Blair, Angela Dorman (Lincoln), Ryan McDowell, Sara McDowell, James Blair (Jessica), Leah Ogle (John) and great-grandchildren Victoria, Ciaran, Darren, Charlotte and Silas.
The family will celebrate her life during a private service on a future date. Thanks to Heartland Hospice for providing care and support. A message may be made on the guestbook.
