Olga B. Reed

Olga Benson Reed died peacefully on May 29, 2021 at the age of 83. She was born on July 31,1937 in St. John's Newfoundland, Canada to parents Wesley and Nita Benson and was the second of seven siblings. At age 19, she married John Adams and moved to Richmond,Virginia where they started a family. She was very proud to become an American citizen. Later in life, she married Ken Reed and they were together for thirty eight years until his death.

Olga had careers in real estate, insurance and healthcare…however, her most important and rewarding career was being a mother. Her family was her treasure and her home was a haven of love, laughter,and comfort.. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She will be best remembered for her kindness, contagious joy, tenacity and strong faith.  Favorite past-times were reading, traveling, dancing, listening to music and investing in the stock market. She had a zest for life and a passion for learning.

She is preceded in death by Wesley and Nita Benson (parents), Helen Flood (sister),Tolson and Kevin Benson (brothers), Ken Reed, (husband), Chelsea Kelley (granddaughter), Mary Anne Adams (daughter-in-law).

She is survived by her children: Mark, Kevin (Kathy) and John (Margaret) and Nancy;  her eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three stepchildren and her siblings: Marie, Trilby (Carl), Paul (Michelle)
