Nelda Edna Soza, 66, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on January 9,2024.
Nelda was born on September 29, 1957 to Antonio and Ella Soza in Bossier City, Louisiana. Being part of a military Air Force family, she grew up all over the United States in various cities. She graduated from Crockett High School in Austin, TX and received an associate degree as a veterinary technician. She later changed her career to the mortgage lending industry, moving to Dallas, Texas to work for Chase Bank. Nelda ended up residing in Jacksonville, Florida and worked for Chase Bank for over 30 years.
Nelda had a partner, William (Billy) George Whiteard for over 18 years of her life. They had a special, caring relationship which he will always cherish.
Nelda was a very hard worker, but she also enjoyed time at home with family and friends. She loved music, jet skiing, home improvements and gardening. She was passionate about her pets and spoiled them to no end.
Nelda was predeceased by her father and mother, Antonio and Ella Soza and her brother, Edward Soza. She is survived by her partner, Billy Whiteard, sister, Nanette Sookiasian, niece, Victoria Sookiasian, sister-in-law, Imelda Soza, and nephew Daniel Soza.
Nelda will be remembered for her strong, energetic personality. She was able to easily engage in a conversation with strangers and has a wonderful sense of humor. She always wanted to make sure family, friends and co-workers felt special. She was a kind, generous and special person who will be truly missed.
