Nancy M. Hawkins

Nancy M. Hawkins, 83, of Jacksonville, Fla., and formerly of Ashley, returned home to the Lord Friday, March 15th at Community Hospice & Palliative Care, Jacksonville Fl.  Born Dec. 9, 1940, in Hanover Township, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Hilda McKinney.

Nancy was a member of the Mandarin United Methodist Church, Jacksonville.
She had many passions in life but most notably she was an avid Jacksonville Jaguars and Penn State Wrestling fan and absolutely loved Tom Jones.

Prior to moving to Jacksonville in 1993, she ran an in-home day care where her love for children flourished.  Commonly referred to as “Nana” by so many.

She is now reunited with her husband Wayne Hawkins.

Surviving are her children; daughters, Tammy Hawkins and Susan Hawkins Pappadis, both of Jacksonville, FL; sons, Jerry and his wife Darlene, Ashley, PA; Robert and his wife Denise, Duryea, PA; five grandsons (Sage, Forest, Bobby, Jaden, and Alex), 2 granddaughter’s (Madisyn and Marisa) and 2 great grandchildren (Jase and Emma).

She will be remembered for all the love she shared with her friends and family.  She truly loved each of them – and if you knew her, you knew it.  When her time came, she carried herself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before her.  She will be missed dearly.

In typical Nancy fashion, there are no services planned, certainly no pomp and circumstance.  A celebration of life will occur with details to be determined. God speed – she will be waiting for us on the other side.
