Mitchell Singleton Stovall

November 17, 1931 — August 10, 2020

Mitchell Singleton Stovall, 88, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on August 10, 2020. He was born in Jacksonville to Bates and Ina Stovall on November 17, 1931. After high school, Mitch joined the US Marine Corp and served in the Korean War. Rising to the rank of Sergeant, he led his men against the Chinese until the end of the war. Once he returned, he was set up on a blind date with Martie Fowkes, whom he married six weeks later. After his enlistment, Mitch went to school, became a Court Reporter and opened his own business. Once retired, he worked at Walt Disney World as a tour guide, which he enjoyed immensely!  Mitch was an avid writer, having several poems published in magazines. He also had a passion for drawing and painting. A rabid Florida Gator football fan, he enjoyed having season tickets for almost 30 years. Mitch also volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years.

Mitch is survived by three sons and daughter in-laws: David & Tracey, Dan & Carol and Douglas & Victoria: eight grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Mitch and his wife Martie's life will be in Jacksonville Florida.
