Melanie Michelle Wilson of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on August 30, 2024, one day shy of her 70th birthday. Born to Roberta Marie 'Bobbie' McKenzie Wilson and Johnny Joseph Wilson in Jacksonville, she was the sister of the late Michael Ferris Wilson. Mother to Crystal and Carey. Grandmother to Eva.

Melanie had an abundance of love in her life including three husbands, Jerry Boling, her longtime best friend; as well as Dave Gwin and Edward Mentz. She was loved by her favorite aunts Rachel and Maxine, and beloved friend and uncle Chuck. She was very close to her mother Bobbie also known as our ‘Meema’. She loved her two daughters and only granddaughter very much.

Known for her beautiful smile and good spirit; we loved her laugh and her smart-aleck jokes. She loved dancing, dressing up, decorating, traveling, Nascar, and binge-watching series with her mom and her daughter. She cherished all animals, especially dogs. Just like her mother, she would always joke that she was hunting for the ‘Gold’. In our family the ‘Gold’ means Love. Love for friends and family.

She leaves behind a large family who loved her dearly, including her daughters, Crystal Boling and Carey Boling; granddaughter, Eva Marie; aunts, Rachel Cook (Greg Cook) and Maxine McKenzie; uncles, Charles 'Chuck' McKenzie (Litsa McKenzie), and James 'Jimmy' McKenzie (Peggy McKenzie); cousins, Debra Neilsen, Kathyn Holliday, Alex Holliday, Trinity Baker, Shannan Anglin (Clint Anglin) (Camden & Chloe) and Robbie McCallister (LaKenya McCallister & Robbie Jr.); niece, Morgan Wilson; and great-niece, Echo and Helen Wilson.

Melanie was preceded in death by her mother, Roberta ‘Bobbie’ Wilson; her father, Johnny Wilson; her brother, Michael Ferris Wilson; aunt, Shirley McCleod (Tommy McCleod); uncle, Larry McKenzie; aunt, Pat Holliday (Vad Holliday); aunt, Caroline McCallister; cousin, Chip McCallister; cousin, Connie Carter; and cousin, Susan Pimentel.

Her friends paid tribute to her life by placing flowers on her car. Melanie's stories and memories will continue to be told, and she will be remembered often by family and friends. May she be at peace and watch over us, as we will forever love and miss her.
