Matthew Alan Miller

6-16-1959 to 12-25-2023

Matthew A. Miller passed away on 12/25/2023 from a short courageous battle with cancer at Haven Hospice of Orange Park, FL.

Born to Helen Keller and Harry Miller on June 16, 1959. He is survived by his loving wife Teresa Miller; son Jacob Miller; son A.J. Schlegel; daughter Tasha (Steven) Ellsberry and his grandchildren: Wyatt, Thomas, Madilynn, Charlie and Cooper.  Siblings: Suzanne (Clark) Nickols, Steven Miller, Marty (Angie) Miller, Joseph (Beverly) Miller, Bethany (Mike) Elliott and stepmother Carolyn Miller, many nieces and nephews as well as friends and extended family members and his favorite dog Jessie-girl.

Matthew graduated from Beavercreek High School and worked as a machinist for over 20 years. He worked part-time and retired from UPS in March 2023.

He was an avid cook, gardener, fisherman, bowler and loved watching and cheering on the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He will be remembered for his quiet and gentle nature with all those he came in contact with. He loved his family and friends fiercely and enjoyed all the perks of being a Papaw to his grandchildren. He always gave the best nicknames to those he was closest to. His contagious smile and laughter could fill a room with joy and contentment.

A celebration of life will be held in Jacksonville, FL in April 2024 as well as in Dayton, OH in June 2024 for all of Matthew’s friends and family.

On behalf of Matthew and his family, we thank UF Shands Hospital, Haven Hospice of Orange Park, and Father Mike Elias for all of their caring and commitment to him and his family.
