Matthew Scott Deckler

Matthew Scott Deckler passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida.

He was born to Father, Scott Deckler and Mother, Stacey Eichelberger on April 26, 1997, in Louisville, Colorado. He spent most of his life in Colorado, then moved to Florida in 2018.

Matthew was a gamer for sure. He loved playing with his Dad Scott Deckler, and his best friend, Forest Williams, who he called his brother.

He had just started a new job in October of 2023. He worked at the City of Jacksonville, taking after his Dad and his Grandfather, Gene Eichelberger. He had just obtained his A CDL permit and was looking forward to being a heavy equipment operator.

He was known for his kindness, willingness to help anyone in need, and a laugh that was just infectious.

He is preceded in death by his Grandfather William Deckler, and his Grandmother Cindy Eichelberger.

He is survived by Grandfather Gene Eichelberger in Colorado, Grandmother Carolyn Deckler in Illinois, bonus Grandmother Verna Paddock in Florida, Dad Scott Deckler in  Florida, Mom Stacey Eichelberger in  Colorado, bonus Mom Alyce Deckler in Florida, Brother from another Mother Forest Williams in Georgia, Sister Aaron (Daniella) Burns in Colorado, as well as many aunts, uncles,  bonus brothers,  sisters, and cousins.

In lieu of a funeral service, there will be a private gathering of family and friends on May 18, 2024 to celebrate his life.
