Mary Ann Hammer Sachs, 70, of Orange Park, Florida, lost her long battle with cancer on July 23, 2018. Her devotion to family and her firm belief in God supported her through this struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Mary was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on April 2, 1948 to the late Stuart and Irma Hammer. When she was 22 years old, she met the man with whom she would share her life, Gary Sachs. They married on June 13, 1970 and were together for 48 years filled with laughter, love, faith, friendship and family.
There were no strangers in Mary’s life and everyone was welcome, any time, for any reason. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and Christian. She gave 100% of herself to her family, God, and spreading the word she believed in so deeply. She has now been lifted up to her heavenly home and found peace and love in the arms of her Lord and Savior.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, brother Sheldon, brother-in-law Tom. Survived by: loving sisters Linda (husband Jerry), Sandra and their families. Husband Gary, daughters Sheri, Cathy and Deena, son Frank, son-in-law Todd, daughter-in-law Vicki and nine treasured grandchildren Jasmine, Mackenzie, Taylor, Aysia, Sophia, TJ, Carly, Tia and Trey and lastly, Skipper the schnauzer.
A celebration of her life will be held at 12:00 pm, Sunday, August 5, 2018 at The Church at Argyle, 6823 Argyle Forest Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32244. Lunch served after service
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to The Church at Argyle or Community Hospice on Mary’s behalf.
