Mary Martha Hagans (Beatty) was born on April 30, 1950, to the late Maebell & Robert Clark in Hazard, Kentucky.
Mary’s two loves were Christ and her family. Mary met her first husband, Winfred Darriel Hagans, and had three children together, Darriel, Cornelius, and Mary Nicole. Mary was a homemaker who spent most of her time caring for her husband Winfred and their daughter Mary Nicole during their illness until the time of their passing. Mary’s ability to love and meet the needs of those she loved, was truly her superpower. She had the remarkable ability to discern the needs of her loved ones, without them ever mentioning them. It would even bother her immensely when those loved ones would not take advantage of the assistance that she wanted to provide.
Over the years, Mary assisted the family in raising nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Outside of loving and supporting her family, Mary, in her free time, enjoyed watching Law & Order, and reruns of NCIS. She also enjoyed going to shop at Walmart for things that she admittedly said that she did not need. Mary will be missed by many, as she was a confidant, great listener, and a guardian of all “secrets” entrusted to her during conversations with those that loved her.
Mary is survived by her sister Ethel Prisby; two sons; Darriel (Alice) Hagans and Cornelius Hagans; grandchildren Linda Hagans, Alexandria (Joseph Sr.) Lee, and Carson Hagans; and great grandchildren; Joseph Lee Jr. and Chase Wiggins. She also leaves behind her stepson; Warren Beatty; step grandchildren Christian Beatty and Warren Beatty Jr; great-grandnephew Cameran Hagans, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mary is preceded in death by her first husband Winfred Darriel Hagans, second husband William Beatty; her parents, Maebell & Robert Clark; her siblings, Leon Clark, Fred Clark, Daniel Clark, Robert Clark, and Nathaniel Clark; and her daughter, Mary Nicole Hagans.
