Marie Bishop Killmon, age 95, of Norfolk VA and Jacksonville, FL, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband, John 'Jack' Weldon Killmon, son John 'Jay' Weldon Killmon Jr., parents Elbert Muncie Bishop and Sheila Williams Bishop, and seven siblings. She is survived by her sister Peggy Hanchey (Brian), daughters Sheila Killmon, June Killmon, and Lynn Altom (Dan), three grandchildren, Katie Aderholt (Daniel), Aaron Altom (Maggy), and Jackie Campbell (Tyler), and five great grandchildren.
She was raised on a farm in Princess Anne County, married Jack and moved to Norfolk. She and Jack moved to East Beach in 1997 and enjoyed life near the Bay. She was a devoted member of Norview United Methodist Church all of her adult life.
They were lifelong campers, including family trips all across the country. As retirees, they continued their traveling adventures with Airstream caravans. Marie's favorite hobbies included playing games, especially Bridge and Aggravation. She loved hosting a crowd of family members and friends for a crab feast. Many happy memories were made by all.
A burial at Forrest Lawn Cemetery and memorial celebration for her and her brother, Elbert M. Bishop, Jr., will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcome to Community Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeast Florida, at
www.communityhospice.com
and to Norview United Methodist Church. We would also like to thank Brookdale Crown Point in Jacksonville for their devoted love and service to our mother while she was in their care.
