Margaret Bradley Morris

March 17, 1930 — September 1, 2019

Margaret Bradley Morris died on September 1, 2019, at the age of 89, peacefully in her home surrounded by family. Her hobbies were reading, word games, quilting, and more recently Twitter, where she had several thousand followers.

After graduating in February 1948 from Girls High School (later known as O’Keefe High School) in Atlanta, GA, she began working in the stenographic department of AT&T. While working, she took courses at the University of Georgia.  She became a secretary to the Chief Engineer and worked there eight years.  She married Claude Ezra Morris, Jr. in 1954, who passed away in 2014.  They had a son, Keith David Morris, who died from leukemia at the age of eight, and two daughters.

She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Dawn Morris of Jacksonville, FL, and Kathi Morris Mettler of Fairfield, CT.  She has 5 grandchildren: April LaVecchia Kegley, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; Erin LaVecchia Torres, of St. John’s, FL; Courtney Margaret Mettler (22), Stephen William Mettler, Jr. (20), and Madison Bradley Mettler (16) of Fairfield, CT. She had 6 great-grandchildren: Cade Aaron LaVecchia (21), Robert Barney Kegley (15), Ridge Cohen Kegley (11) and Ryder David Kegley (9) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; and Mekayla Erin Torres (7) and Rylie Iva Torres (5) of St. John’s, FL.  She was so proud of her children, but especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brother and wife, Ronald and Jan Bradley of Conyers, GA, her sister and husband, Carol and Jeffrey Corpuel, of Sebastopol, CA, and many nieces and nephews.  She will be remembered for her selfless spirit.
