Marcy Fowler

Marcy Fowler, 84, passed away on February 23, 2022 in Jacksonville, Florida after a long illness. Marcelle Maureen Balliew was born in Calhoun, Georgia on February 3, 1938 to Flora and Thomas Jefferson “TJ” Balliew. She met her husband Jim Fowler in Atlanta where they married in 1958 and had five kids. She had a long and successful career in the telecommunications industry and spent most of her life in Georgia before retiring to Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings (Maxie, Garner, Pug, Tommy, and Sherry). Her husband Jim passed away in 2003 and she lost two of her sons (Mike in 1998 and Buren in 2014). She courageously battled cancer, blindness, and heart surgery over the years and was known for her humor and positive outlook. She loved to visit with her grandkids and listen to books on tape. She spent her last year at Wyndham Lakes Assisted Living where she made many friends. She was loved by many  and is survived by her three remaining children Robert Bruce Fowler (West Palm Beach, Fl), Rebecca Fowler Kenyon (Alexandria, Va), and Stephanie Jane Gallagher (Ponte Vedra, Fl). She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
