Lynda Gremer Cohen Parent

It is with great sadness that the family of Lynda Gremer Cohen Parent announce her passing on November 20, 2024, at the age of 84. Lynda was the second of four children born to Juanita Irene Gremer (Mitchell) & Robert Joseph Gremer. She went to St. Paul’s Catholic School in Jacksonville.

Lynda was married to Allen Aaron Cohen in 1961 for 36 years until his passing in 1997. Lynda later married Jacque Pierre Parent, they were married 10 years. He passed in 2019.

Lynda was the mother of three: Michael Cohen, Susan Grant, and Leslie Fisher. After raising her three children, Lynda earned a registered nursing degree in 1971. Lynda is the grandmother of seven: Brian, Lyn, Christine, James, Johnny, Alexandria, and Nicole and great grandmother of 10: Amelia, Nora, Clara, Jaxon, Gabriella, Sydney, Jordan, James, Ruben, and Julia.

Lynda had a long and rewarding career and specialized in wound care. She started her nursing career in Jacksonville, worked the majority of her career at Lucerne Hospital in Orlando, and finished it as a home healthcare nurse in Central Florida. She was exceptionally loving and joyful in life, which was evident in her work and through her retirement in Jacksonville.

Lynda was dedicated to swimming, singing worship music, doing bible study, playing cards, and building community wherever she went. Her sisters Patty and Bernice visited her regularly. Now that Lynda has passed into the arms of our Lord, her physical life on earth is over but it is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her. She will be dearly missed.

A memorial service will be held on December 9th at 11am in the chapel at Riverside Post Acute Care.
