Lonny Melvin Barnhart, Jr.

On the evening of August 25, 2022, Lonny Melvin Barnhart  JR. passed away at home, at the age of 54.

Lonny was born to Lonny Melvin Barnhart SR, and Gail Ann Barnhart on January 22, 1968 in Key West, Florida.

Lonny (known to his family and friends as Buba), grew up on the Westside of Jacksonville, Fl where he attended Gregory Drive Elementary, Jefferson Davis Junior High, and Nathan Bedford Forrest High School. He lived in Orange Park, FL with his Fiancé, Joanne Barnhart for the past 10 years. Lonny attended mass on Sunday’s at Saint Luke’s Catholic Church, and he loved listening to Father Andy preach. Buba loved to go fishing at the Little Jetties, watching football on Sunday, watching Nascar, working on old cars, or hanging out cooking on the grill, and listening to his favorite music. Buba had a passion for helping his neighbors, and for strangers that he would meet, who were in need. He will be remembered for having a huge heart, for being such a loving, and caring brother, son, and uncle. Buba(Lonny) was known for his huge smile, his big personality, his laughter, his shenanigans(as he called them), his endless love, and his loyalty to his family, and friends.

Lonny is survived by his Mother, Gail Ann Bozeman, his Stepfather, Robert Neil Bozeman, his Fiance Joanne Barnhart, his sisters, Lisa Jones, Donna Johnson, Gail Shelton, Kimberly Gaspar, Gail Bozeman, and Jill Jackson. His brothers, Mark Cornuet, and Lance Cornuet. His children, Matthew Barnhart, and Haley Davis. He is also survived by several cousin, nieces, and nephews.

We will be having a celebration of Lonny’s(Buba’s) life on October 8, 2022 at his home, 1273 Suffolk Place, Orange Park, FL 32065 from 12 Noon-4PM. We ask that the 12 Noon-1:30 be reserved for immediate family, and from 1:30-4PM open to all who Loved Buba.

We will also be having a celebration of life mass at Saint Luke’s Catholic church for family only. As soon as details are finalized we will share them with the immediate family.
