Lavelle Brock

Lavelle Brock passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022 in Jacksonville, FL.  Lavelle was born at around 2:30 am on March 1, 1931 at the Shamblin homeplace in Georgetown, Tennessee, to Willard Robert Brock and Edna Shamblin Brock.  Reports indicate that the  weather was stormy and the doctor had come out to the homeplace in a Model T Ford to assist with the delivery.  The family later moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Lavelle graduated from Redbank High School.  She loved reading, writing stories, genealogy, and quilting.  Lavelle worked in the banking industry in Chattanooga and Jacksonville, FL.  Lavelle was predeceased by her parents, Edna and Robert, her brothers Jackie and Rex, and her sons, Robert and Fred.  Lavelle is survived by her daughter, Sue (Jack), sons Ed (Patsy) and Ted (Michelle), brother Lynn (Anne), sister Annelle, and grandchildren Samantha, Richard, Catherine, Thomas, Caroline, Brock, Meghan and MarthaKay.  The family would like to thank Jamie and the caregivers at Almost Home in Jacksonville for 21 years of excellent care.  Lavelle’s wishes will be granted to have her ashes scattered at Crystal Lake, one of her favorite places.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers or other remembrances, donations be made to a charity that fights Dementia and Alzheimer’s.
