My Baby...

Karima, Sunday is known as a day of rest, when we can discard our burdens, and cease our weary labors, and seek peace from the trials that exhaust the limits of our resolve. Sunday is a day of rest. Today, Karima Zavollos, a beloved wife and loving mother, closed her eyes in her final rest, surrounded by her loving family, seeking sanctuary in the peace promised in the next life. We are wounded, and grieving her even as we celebrate the legacy that she left as her final lesson. When we feel our spirits sinking from this grievous loss, we remind ourselves of her warrior spirit, her unfailing determination, and how she smiled in the face of the Impossible, her example calling to the better natures of our own courage, and inspiring our belief in miracles, and each time she smiled bravely while the sickness stole her health, our hearts swelled and whispered her name, and we hoped we could, one day, be as strong.  Karima faced cancer going on six years, and today she breathed her last breaths, and found relief in the lasting silence that her departure left in our lives, and every moment that came before the last is suddenly precious, and we cling to those memories like love notes. We are wounded, and grateful for the woman that she was, and for the warrior she showed herself to be, for the wife and mother she grew to become, and for every precious moment that echoes in the hallways of hearts, where her laughter and love will walk forever. Sunday is a day of rest.
