Joseph Kenneth Creamons, Iii

June 6, 1959 — August 21, 2024

Joseph “Joe” Kenneth Creamons, III, was born on June 6, 1959, in Eustis, FL, to Joyce Denton Creamons and Joseph Kenneth Creamons, Jr.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Linda Sullivan Creamons, son, Joseph IV, and daughter, Grace. He is also survived by his sister, Lisa Creamons Moseley (Jason). Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Creamons Scism, and sister, Deborah Sue Creamons.

Joe graduated from Eustis High School, where he excelled in football, baseball, and track. He went on to attend the University of Georgia, where he was a three-year letterman on the University of Georgia Football Team under Coaches Vince Dooley and Erk Russell. Joe was a proud member of the 1980 National Championship Football Team and the 1981 Southeastern Conference Championship Team. He was named Defensive MVP of the 1980 Tennessee game, a pivotal win in Bulldog history. Joe's leadership and passion for the sport were further recognized when Coach Vince Dooley appointed him as a graduate assistant defensive line coach for the 1982 UGA JV team.

Joe began his career in heavy equipment sales and later held Vice President positions in Sales and Business Development within the heavy equipment lending and finance industry. True to his nature, Joe established lifelong friendships with clients and colleagues across the country, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he worked with.

Joe touched the lives of many young people and made meaningful relationships through his coaching. He coached at Providence School's football and track teams, Bishop Kenny High School Football, Ponte Vedra High School Football, and Ponte Vedra JDL Sharks Football. Additionally, he spent several years coaching at the JAX Beach Baseball Association. Joe’s advice and mentorship helped guide countless individuals toward their own success.

Joe took great pride in watching his daughter Grace cheer and run track, and his son Joseph on the football field and the baseball mound. He also loved hunting, target shooting, lobstering in the Keys, and sitting by a fire pit while telling a great story. Joe cherished vacationing with his family in the mountains and at the beach, especially in the Florida Keys. He looked forward to entertaining family and friends at his home, where he could barbecue and enjoy quality time with his loved ones. Above all, Joe's love and devotion to his wife, Linda, and his children were the cornerstone of his life.

A celebration of Joe's life will be held on September 6, 2024, with a service at Chets Creek Church, Jacksonville, FL, at 1 PM, followed by a gathering at Queen’s Harbour Yacht & Country Club from 2 to 4 PM. Joe will later be laid to rest at Bulldog Haven in Athens, Georgia, near the historic railroad tracks where local fans once gathered to watch the Bulldogs play between the hedges in Sanford Stadium.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joe's honor to his family at this link.

Joe had a genuine, playful smile and a presence that could light up any room; his sharp wit and sense of humor were truly unmatched. A caring and devoted family man, his love and support extended far beyond his immediate family. He will be remembered for his enthusiasm for dancing to songs like “Fantastic Voyage” and for cranking up “Free Bird” at full volume. His grand and captivating stories always began with, “Cuz, let me tell you a short story”—which, as everyone knew, was never actually short but was always filled with meaningful insight and his signature quick-witted humor.
