Joseph Vincent Bello

Joseph V. Bello peacefully passed away at his home in St Augustine on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 with his loving wife, Janet (Hess) at his side. Joe was born to Gerardo C. and Mary Ann (Astrella) Bello on April 6, 1941 in Worcester, MA and raised in Webster, MA where the family ran a well loved donut shop. He graduated from Bartlett High School, Class of 1958. After graduation he joined the U.S. Marines Corps. After an honorable discharge Joe found his career in the automobile industry, which led to his love of auto racing and classic cars. This included being owner/manager of several dealerships until his retirement. Joe was an active supporter of veteran’s organizations and maintained his pride in being a member of the USMC. After retirement Janet and Joe moved onboard the Anna B and enjoyed a few years traveling the waters of East Coast making many new friends.  Joe is preceded in death by his parents, son, Christopher L. Bello and brother John G. Bello. He is survived by daughter Jennifer R. Williamson (Amesbury, MA), sister Camy Roach (Danielson, CT), brother Gerardo S. Bello, step-sons Stephen D. (Beth) (Johns Creek, GA) and Todd D. Hodes (Emeryville, CA), his grandchildren, Lewis Cara Bello, Carolyn and Lindsey Williamson, Carson, Lily and Asher Hodes.  A Celebration of Life will be held at later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to any Veteran’s Organizations or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are being handled by A Dignified Alternative-Hatcher Cremations, Jacksonville, FL.
