John M. Siegel passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 25, 2018. John was born on March 10, 1961 in Little Rock, AR to Alyce Cedars Siegel and the late Edward Joseph Siegel, Jr. John is survived by his mother, his sister Susan, and his brothers, Edward III (Patty and daughter Misty) and Stephen (Amy). After graduating from Riverview High School in Sarasota, FL. John served his country in the United States Marine Corps. John graduated from the Florida State College of Jacksonville, summa cum laude, with an IT degree. At the time of his death, he worked for FES, LLC as a field engineer testing cell phone towers and 911 emergency systems throughout the United States.
Known for his keen intellect, John was interested in all things mechanical and electrical. His interests ranged from watching reruns of Star Trek to old westerns such as Shane. He was an avid collector of vintage shaving razors. Opinionated, he never met a stranger and was always fond of starting conversations. He read countless books throughout his life. Of greatest interest to him was the Bible and its many versions. Searching for meaning or solace, he found comfort in the word of the Lord. John was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church.
Those who knew John knew of his kind heart and willingness to lend a helping hand. However, he was quick to lead you to the notion the Lord gave each of us two hands to use as well. He helped many along his journey. Many in turn helped him through his own struggles. John's family is grateful to the many who were there for him.
As John wished, he will be cremated. The family will mourn privately. In his honor, the family asks that you remember John by starting a conversation with a stranger or by helping someone one in need.Visits: 0
