Jack Kemp – larger than life husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather –peacefully left us on 03/13/2020. He was preceded in heaven by his precious wife, Pam, as well as his loving brother, Frank, and devoted parents, Justine and NB. Jack is survived by his sons – John, Michael, and Paul – his grandchildren – Holden, Chandler, Alysa, Garrett, Trey, Noah, and Ashlynn – and his new great-grandson Easton. He also leaves behind 3 loving daughters-in-law as well as multiple nephews, cousins and friends.
Jack graduated from Ribault High School in 1960, a 3 rd generation native and lifetime resident of Jacksonville. He stood for hard work and being a good provider for his family, and he demonstrated those values from a very young age. Starting out as a stock boy at Pic’n Save, Jack eventually became a legendary negotiator in his role as their Health and Beauty Aids Buyer. He expanded his Buyer position further at First Coast Energy, where he later retired. Jack enjoyed time with his sons and grandchildren more than anything in the world – they were the motivation that kept him working daily. He also kept a small circle of very close friends, to whom he was also very devoted. If you knew Jack, you knew where you stood with him – he was a man of his word.
The family has chosen to honor Jack’s request for no public ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in his memory to Community Hospice – Earl B. Hadlow Center, where both their mother and father were nurtured in their last days. Donations may be made either online at www.communityhospice.com or by check to:
