John E. Garner

John E. Garner passed away peacefully on November 6, 2021 with his family by his side.

John was born in Akron, Ohio to Dr. and Mrs. Marvin Garner. He is survived by his wife, Connie, sons John S. (Laura) and Jason E. (Rachel). Twin granddaughters Ava & Madilyn. Brother Shawn (Gina) Garner and nephew Cody.

John worked as a sales engineer for the Frick Company and retired from Johnson Controls in 2010.

Having many interests he especially enjoyed building birdhouses, gardening, tinkering with cars and watching Ohio State football games and spending time with his family. He loved his church FBC downtown Jacksonville and served as an usher many years. Most importantly, he loved his “Savior and Lord”, Jesus Christ.

We will miss his smile, sense of humor, and gentle spirit, but have peace knowing we will see him again one day.
