Joanne M. Sheroke

God welcomed Joanne M. Sheroke, 80, into his kingdom on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. Joanne was born July 14, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Earl and Agnes Hoffman. She graduated from Brush High School in 1957. Joanne was married to William (Bill) Sheroke for 43 years. She first worked at TRW, Inc. in Cleveland, Ohio, was a caretaker of the family for many years, and worked as a legal secretary for a law firm. Joanne was a devoted Lutheran. She had a beautiful voice and sang/participated in the church choir and Handel’s Messiah for several years. Joanne also volunteered at local community and mental health agencies. She also enjoyed painting, singing, dancing and writing. Joanne was very creative and enjoyed writing poems. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Sheroke; and brother, Lee Hoffman.

Joanne is survived by her daughters, Wendy Hughes (Jeff), Joanne (Joni) Blanchard, Loretta Lausin, and Carol Blanchard Malave (Father, the late Murphy Blanchard); grandchildren, Zach Hughes (who fondly called her “Gaga”), Emily Blanchard, Carl Gaffney, Eric Gaffney, Miranda Brown, Justin Malave, Jessica Elizabeth Feichtner and Joshua Malave; and great-grandchildren, Selena, Liliana, Kenley, Kolesten, Sophia, Elaina and Joshua Anthony.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Celebration Lutheran Church, 810 Roberts Road, Jacksonville, FL 32259 with The Reverend Steven De Santo officiating.
