Jimmie Samuel Lorantos, 79 passed away peacefully on March 7, 2021 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Jimmie was born in Lexington, Missouri on August 17, 1941. He was the son of the late James Lorantos and Daisy Lucille Perry.
Jimmie is survived by his daughters Christa Lorantos Ritchie (Christopher Ritchie) and Adrienne Lorantos, and his grandchildren Jacob Ritchie and Madison Ritchie.
Jimmie married Diane Hewitt Lorantos on September 10, 1966 and they remained together until the day she passed in January 2021. Jimmie attended Lexington High School in Lexington Missouri. He attended Wentworth Military Academy and served in the US Navy. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Good Conduct Award. He served as a photographer while in the Navy. After the Navy, he earned a master’s degree from Florida State University. He loved photography and spent his life taking photos. He owned Studio Lorantos a photography business for many years. After retirement, Diane and Jimmie remained in Jacksonville spending time with his family and loved being a grandfather.
A family celebration of Jimmie’s life will take place at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on April 16 th at 1 pm.
