Jean E. Bisbee, 87, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021. She was born to Robert and Grace Waller on June 3, 1934, in Long Island, New York, and spent most of her life in northern New Jersey and in the Jersey Shore area. After graduating high school, she worked briefly at Fitkin Hospital in Neptune, New Jersey, as a clerical employee.
She married the love of her life, Dan L. Bisbee, on December 29, 1956, at the First Baptist Church of Asbury Park, New Jersey. Together they raised their family of three children and served in their church and community, as a gospel witness and faithful stewards of the Word of God, for 54 years. Jean was known for her sweet and outgoing nature, encouraging family and friends through her Spirit-led gift of hospitality.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Grace Waller, her sister, Carol Woodruff in California, and her husband Dan Bisbee in Jacksonville.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon, a missionary in Alto Hospicio, Chile; son, Dan, a missionary in Senegal, West Africa, with his wife, Sue, and their children, David, Lydia, Christa, Sarah, Jeremiah, Faith and Hannah; and son, Keith, a cable technician for Comcast, in Jacksonville, Florida, with his wife, Dina, and their son, Lucas and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, and son, Ryan.
A memorial service, presided by Rev. Steve Clifton, will be held at the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, on Friday, August 13 at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Community Hospice.
