Jean Scott Bain

Jean Scott Bain, 84, a native of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on December 22, 2023. Daughter of Florence Merry and Broward Scott,  she was born on December 7, 1939, in St. Augustine, FL.
Jean is survived by her two sons, David Bain and Jim (Chris) Bain. She also leaves behind her cherished granddaughter, Taylor (Daelen) Bain-Johnsen, great grandson, Lawson Johnsen, sister Louise Scott and nieces Vida Anderson and Brenda Jenkins. Jean was preceded in death by her son, Tom Bain and her brother Walter Scott.

After graduating from Ketterlinus High School in the Class of 1957, Jean pursued a career as an Industrial Engineering Technician at NADEP, NASJAX.  She was a volunteer at the St. Augustine Humane Society and served on her high school reunion committee.

Jean was known by her neighbors as an avid gardener and would often be seen in her yard pulling weeds and maintaining her fish pond.

In her free time, Jean enjoyed genealogy as her favorite hobby. She had a passion for tracing her family's history and discovering her roots.

The family will hold a private ceremony in her honor.  However, her memory can be honored through contributions to the St. Augustine Genealogy Society or the St. Augustine Humane Society.
