After battling ALS for four years, Jay left his broken body behind on Saturday morning, March 15th.
Jay always had a quick smile and everyone who he met became an instant friend. His easy-going, fun-loving personality was infectious, and you knew you were going to have a good time if he was there.
As a husband, he was absolutely the best. Steady, supportive and made me feel like the center of his universe. Our 30th anniversary would have been 3/18. We were the best of friends and had so much fun and so many adventures together. The hole in my heart will never heal completely and I cherish the many years we had together.
As a father, he always had the kids’ best interests in mind and loved them unconditionally. He could be tough, but only because he wanted the best for them. He loved watching the volleyball games and ROTC competitions and was proud of them for giving their best effort. We recently became grandparents for the first time and he was instantly in love with the baby and being “J-pop”.
Jay was a good son, brother and uncle, friend and will be missed by so many friends and family. I can only hope that he carries his joy and zest for life into the universe to share with the stars and everything around him. Bliphney, baby!!
