It is with deepest sorrow that our son Jason Michael O’Leary, beloved father, son, brother, and friend to so many, left this earth to fly free.  For those who truly knew Jason, even just a little, you know we lost a shining light and free spirit in our lives.

Jason, 47, was born January 16, 1974 in Pensacola, Florida and has resided in Jacksonville, Florida with his family for 44 years.  On February 6, 2021 he left us unexpectedly.

Jason graduated from Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida and worked as a Residential Construction Superintendent.  He loved his boys and always said they were his greatest accomplishments.

In Jason’s younger days he loved surfing with his buds at Crossroads (Mickler Beach), Jax Pier, the Poles at Mayport, and heading out to New Smyrna.  He loved skateboarding with his younger brother and riding his motorcycle with his Dad.  He also loved going down to the Keys most ever summer with his family.  But his most favorite times were with his boys, skateboarding, fishing, camping, mud, and trail riding. He loved the outdoors and shared that passion with his sons.

Jason is survived by his parents Michael and Joanne O’Leary, his sons Gage, Kyler and Rylan, and their mother Amy O’Leary.  He is preceded in death by his daughter Brianna Hope O’Leary, his brother Brandon Scott O’Leary, grandparents Noli and Daisy Hedaria, Joseph and Tilda O’Leary, and many numerous aunts and uncles.

Jason was always a free spirit, a loving father, a son, and a friend.  His smile, giving heart and sense of adventure captured the spirit of who he was. He was truly loved by all who knew him and he will be sorely missed.

Jason’s friends have organized a Paddle-Out at Crossroads (Mickler Beach), in his memory, to be held Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 12:00 PM. There, his ashes will be scattered over the waters of one of his favorite places. A Celebration of Life for Jason, with his family and friends, will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Moose Lodge #42 at 4450 Losco Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
