Janet Frances Mastridge (nee Nolan), 81, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully at the McGraw Center for Caring of Community Hospice on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 with her loved ones by her side.
She was born to Helen and James Nolan in New York, NY on August 19, 1942. Janet continued to reside in New York, and it was there that she met her loving and devoted husband, Allen Francis Mastridge in 1959. She married Allen on September 29, 1962, and in 1969, they moved to New Jersey where they raised their two children, whom she considered to be her best accomplishment. Janet was happily married to Allen for 61 years at the time of her passing.
Janet attended high school at Benedictine Academy in Paterson, NJ and graduated in 1960. She went on to attend Grace Institute in New York, NY and graduated in 1962.
Before retiring to Jacksonville in 2003, Janet worked as an administrative assistant at IBM for many years, and then Rhodia, Inc., both in New Jersey. Once in Jacksonville, she worked as a volunteer receptionist at Volunteers in Medicine.
Janet loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed traveling, going to casinos and on cruises, and watching endless reruns of her favorite show, Outlander.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Helen Nolan. She is survived by her husband, Allen; son, James Mastridge; and daughter, Elizabeth Mastridge, both of New Jersey; as well as her siblings, Patsy Reycraft and partner Char Parra of Arizona, Linda Ponte and husband Louis of New York, and Christopher Nolan and wife Karen of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews, and other extended family, all of whom she loved dearly.
Cremation will be private.
