James Locke

March 15, 1951 — March 10, 2025

Jacksonville

It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the passing of James Locke, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, mentor, and friend to many, who left us too soon on March 10th at the age of 73. James was born in Eustis, Florida, and was a proud native Floridian. He resided in Jacksonville for most of his life.

James and his wife, Angella, shared 28 wonderful years together, 24 of those spent as husband and wife. Their love was built on a foundation of mutual respect, shared dreams, and unconditional support and commitment to one another. Together, they raised two sons, Myles, 19 and Bryce, 15, who were the center of his world. His pride and joy were his boys, and he was immensely proud of the young men they have become.

In addition, James is survived by his children from a previous marriage, Kimberly Ochiuzzo, Heather Olson, Tiffany Melvin, and twin sons John and David Locke, along with eleven grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He enjoyed the time spent with them and was always eager to share his wisdom, love, and laughter. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Ron Locke, Kathy Hodge, Kevin Locke, Karen Cockrell and Laura Cameron, who shared in his life’s journey.

Throughout his career in retail, James was a mentor to many, touching countless lives with his guidance, wisdom, and generosity. He was known for his incredible work ethic and his passion for helping others succeed. His influence extended far beyond his professional life, as he made friends wherever he went, leaving a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

James will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy of mentorship, care, and dedication to those he loved will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held later, with arrangements to be made.

James, you will be forever loved, missed, and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing you.
