James Johnson

November 6, 1967 — August 29, 2021

James Johnson was born on November 6th,1967 to the late Sylvester and Frances Johnson in Green Cove Springs, Florida. He passed away at Orange Park Medical Center on August 30th, 2021. He was the third oldest of six children. James’ brother, Sylvester T Johnson, preceded him in death.

James attended Clay High School and graduated 1985. He was a longtime employee with the Board of County Commissioners for 37 years. James was married to his wife and best friend, Tammie, for 34 years. He came to as he said "the best part of his life" when he symbolized his dedication by water baptism on January 12 th , 1992.  He enjoyed sharing good news about the Bible with family, friends and co-workers. James continued in this activity right up to his death.

James loved football, which he played during his school years and was known as a hard hitter. He also enjoyed playing Spades and popping those cards on the table to get a reaction from his opponents.

However, most would agree that James’ mild spirit and gentle smile will be missed. He was known as "Bro. Easy" because if a need arose, he would say " no problem".

James is survived by his wife, Tammie D Johnson; siblings, Conchetta Walker, Leland (Denise) Johnson, Twala McLaurin, Istash (Roosevelt) Young; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A Virtual Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, September 11, 2021, via ZOOM.
