Jacqueline Griffin Williams

August 4, 1936 — December 4, 2018

Jacqueline Griffin Williams 82, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday December 4 th , 2018. She was blessed with excellent health her entire life until her Heavenly Father reached out his loving hand.

She was born to Benjamin F Griffin and Judith Knight Griffin on August 4 th , 1936 in Pageland, South Carolina. Her family moved later to Charlotte, North Carolina.

They ended up in a small town on 22 nd Street where across the street, unbeknownst to her, was her future destiny. Norman describes it was “love at first sight.” They married at the ages of 17 and 21 and lived a happy, wonderful and blessed life with 64 and ½ years together. They truly became “one” and set a perfect example of Christian love and wedded bliss.

She traveled with Norman briefly to wherever the Navy took them, establishing friends and a happy home at each location. They were blessed with three daughters, Donna, Sharon, and Jan and their family was complete.

She worked many years clerically and started a nursing career when her youngest was in high school. She enjoyed 25 plus years’ service as a nurse, touching many lives wherever she went. In her final years, she and Norman also worked with the Duval County Supervisor of Elections.

She and Norman attended First Baptist Church Jacksonville where they loved to worship and serve and made numerous lifelong friends.

She will be remembered for her contagious smile, her cute laugh, and her giving spirit. The love of her Jesus showed through to and blessed all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother H.W. “Dub” Griffin, his wife Anita, sisters in law Elizabeth Williams, Jean Griffin and Brenda Witt.

She is survived by her loving husband Norman, daughters Donna Kingry and husband David, Sharon Phillips, and Jan Hite and husband Jay. Grandchildren include Sarah Vanderburg and husband Jay, Bryan Martin and fiancé April Harris, Brittany Kingry, Wendy Koffler, Heather Jordan, Laura Glover and husband Chris, Kelly Fanning, Lara Hite and Brad Hite. Their great-grandchildren are Tyler Jordan, Gavin King, Michael Young, Chase Koffler, Bailey Koffler, Riley Fanning, Nena Vanderburg, Lila Vanderburg, and Savannah Glover.
