Jack William Schall, Sr., age 92, passed away Friday December 2, 2022 at Clyde E. Lassen Veterans Nursing Home in St. Augustine, FL. Jack grew up in Tidioute, PA and was a resident of St. Augustine, FL, for the past 3 years. Prior to moving to St. Augustine, FL, Jack was a resident of High Point, NC for more than a decade.
Jack was born at home on November 29, 1930 in Fagundus, Harmony Township, Forest County, PA to the late Shelby Willard Schall and Annabelle Morrow Schall.
Jack was a graduate of Tidioute Area School, Class of 1948. He enlisted and served 4 years in the United States Navy, and is an active-duty Korean War Veteran. After serving 4 years in the Navy, Jack began attending Penn State University.
Jack married Agnes Illeine Nelson of Titusville, PA on September 29, 1956. Jack and Agnes were married for nearly 60 years at the time of her passing on April 8, 2016. He was a father to 7 children; 4 boys and 3 girls. Jack was also a grandfather of 11 and a great-grandfather of 6.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Shelby and Annabelle Schall, his wife of nearly 60 years Agnes Schall, a sister Joanne Berlin of Blue Bell, PA, and a brother Thomas Schall of Reseda, CA.
Jack is survived by his sister Nancy Schwab of Tidioute, PA, and his 7 children, Cindy Shafer (husband Thomas) of Farmersville, Ohio, Jack Schall, Jr. (wife Ann) of Tipp City, Ohio, Mark Schall (wife Susan) of High Point, NC, Annette Schall of Germantown, OH, Timothy Schall (wife Rebecca) of St. Johns, FL, Theodore Schall (wife Sreysros) of St. Johns, FL, and Patricia Lesch (husband Thomas) of Mocksville, NC.
Jack is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, Crystal Kurtz, Haley Bolen, Paige Smith, Zac Schall, Christian Schall, Markie Schall Miller, Matthew Schall, William Schall, Isabelle Schall, Victoria Schall, and Raegan Lesch, as well as survived by 6 great grandchildren, Jasmine Weaks, Kadence Kurtz, Kynnedy Kurtz, Brooklyn Kurtz, Stella Schall and Luca Schall.
Jack’s obituary would not be complete without mentioning of his great love of the outdoors, lever action rifles, deer camp and his roots growing up in rural Pennsylvania. Fishing, hunting, telling stories and watching Penn State football games were some of his favorite hobbies.
Jack was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who loved his family and friends. So many fond memories and stories will be treasured in all of our hearts.
